 friends

Well yesterday 5 of us girls went to Kelseys for a get together for one who has left us and went to greener pastures. I was a little ticked off because this woman did a lot at our work in regards to 50/50 draws, group lottery and other things. Due to her new job we had to meet on a friday because of her work hours. Well, even after this being planned for two weeks, people that were going to come ended up backing out. So it was me, the guest of honour, a retired woman and two other friends. We went for starters and desserts. I came up with the idea that we should by tickets for a lottery that is up to 16 million. I am really hoping that we win and when people ask, "why didn't you ask me if I wanted in?" I can tell them if they were there they would have been asked.

Well that is my rant for today

One of my friends told me something very shocking. Her son is taking driver training and while out with the instructor another car ran a red light. My friends son tapped on his brakes so he would not hit the jackass crossing in front of him. The instructor asked him why did he do that. He responded so he did not hit the car and her response was he should have hit him because it was the other guys fault ????????? In no way did the friends son endanger someone else by tapping his brakes. She did not take into account that yes it may have been the other guys fault but if you are injured, maybe seriously, does it really matter whose fault it is in the end. What ever happened to defensive driving?

 My First Blog Post

Well after going outside this morning to get the newspapers, I noticed that it didn't seem like the snow we were suppose to get came. I merrily went inside thinking, great no snow to sweep of the Tracker and roads will be great. The snow gods were not kind. Less then 20 minutes later I looked out and it was snowing so bad I could not see more then half a block. I got my shit together and went outside to warm the car up and clean it off.

The expressway was bad, you could not even see the lane dividers so a three lane highway somehow became a 4 lane one. I picked a lane and hoped for the best. I made it to work on time and in one piece

I just got off the phone with my Mom and I tell you some days she really makes me say What the fuck. She lives in the snowbelt area and I worry about her driving to work in this weather. Well I called her and no answer. Ever since my brother and I moved out, she cannot relax until she knows we made it home safe in bad weather. I went out and cleaned the driveway and when I got in she had left me a message. She had hit a deer but she was okay. I called back and asked her where it happened. She said that they (he shall be refered to as dummy, that is another post in itself) were headed to a friends place. I asked her what she was doing travelling in this weather, she said it was nice there. I told her that she always told Dad when he wanted to go someplace after she was done work, that she was too tired. I asked if dummy was driving and she said no. At least she is okay and she said she wasn't drinking.

Anyway that is it for my first blog post.
